18 AND STILL NOT A MILLIONAIRE?

What’s your age? Do you fall in the category of Gen Z, millennial, alpha or what? I had heard terms like alpha with alpha beta gamma in trigonometry but with these terms came different sets of personalities associated with people according to the year they were born in.

The trend of early success has been tremendously increasing, especially after covid. Students haven’t even given their board exams for grade 10 or 12 and we see them going into depression these days for them being a failure? Why and how failure? as they don’t know what they have to do in their life. You just got into your first year and haven’t started applying for internships, you are lagging behind for real. This is what they say. Internships definitely give you a lot of exposure and help in personal and professional growth, but the intent behind doing one should be to please yourself and not others. We heard this in our childhood that “will you jump into a well just because everyone is?” No matter who said yes or no, but everyone is definitely doing this by doing things just because everyone is doing it like a monkey. If someone just wants to have the best moments of their life in school and college, that’s totally fine.

Be it someone’s relatives or any random person for god’s sake, they would make it look like you are either 30 or 40 years old or just on the verge of death and you haven’t done anything in your life. But the actual one thing which they are never able to do is the fun and that exposure you get as a teenager by playing with your friends, travelling and exploring the world.

No one’s saying that starting your venture at a young age is something unethical or boring, the real meaning is success and career building are things for which everyone has their own journey. It’s not just a very bookish thing to say that “it’s about the journey and not the destination” but an actual fact in reality. Be it a child, student or an adult reading this, all of us need to understand that childhood is actually the time which never comes again and is a time really meant for exploring, not competition and stress as this would be for the rest of your life. So what if someone is 27 and is still figuring out, at least the person is trying. We have so many examples wherein people started at like 60 and made great brands like KFC. No doubt they had a lot of experience before this and that’s what made them successful. If we would be in a hurry to just start something of our own, earn money like print money and all of this just at the time wherein you don’t want to do that but you do just because of peer pressure is utter waste of time.

So, it’s time that you really do whatever your heart says. It’s easier said than done but we have to try our best to listen only to ourselves so as not to forget a GenZ term – YOLO (You only live once)!
